Snow Day

It snowed about 8-10 inches on Thursday.  Unfortunately, I had to work both Thursday and Friday.  It wasn't too bad getting to and from work.  Chris was kind enough to take me and pick me up each day.  Also, the streets were plowed pretty good by the time I got off work Thursday, which made the drive do-able.  I love snow a couple times each winter; but, I don't love snow when I have to work -- hospitals don't close, so we never get a snow day.

This little lady loved the snow:

She had a blast running around in it!  Chris & I would make snow balls and throw them - she loved chasing after them and she would try to attack the snow ball.  Some of the photos are so funny - she looks like such an attack dog.

{Aren't you going to throw it again, dad?}

It's supposed to snow again on Monday & Tuesday, so I'm sure there will plenty more play time in the snow!

Laney's Toy Basket

It's not secret that our family {all of Chris's family and all of my family} treat our pets like actual children.  With the holidays, our pets get completely spoiled.  Yes, some may think it's a little overboard, but we have fun with it.

Right before the holidays, Laney's old toy basket was overflowing with toys and it just wasn't big enough.  I wanted to find a basket that was a little larger and that would look decent being out in the family room.  I came across this little beauty - the chalkboard tag already attached.  I just colored her name onto the tag & filled the basket with her toys.  She loves it {of course because it is able to fit more toys and tennis balls in it!}.

Dog-N-Jog

This morning Chris, Laney, & I headed down to the plaza for the 25th annual Dog-N-Jog.  Each year, the Humane Society hosts the Dog-N-Jog.  All the proceeds go to the Humane Society, which I love to help support since that is where we adopted Laney from!  You can choose from a 1-mile walk, 1-mile jog, or 2-mile jog.  Not knowing how well Laney would do with so many other dogs and distractions, I opted for the 1-mile jog.  It was a great time & so fun to see all the other dogs!  My parents and sister came down to watch their favorite grand-dog complete her first race!

 The race was so much fun! We finished the 1-mile run in 7:36 - which is a great time for me! Thanks to Laney making me run faster!  I think I am going to bring her with me to run the next half marathon!
